Galaxy Z Fold4 to improve cameras and deliver iterative changes to the remainder of the phone, according to rumors.

Acuity Owner ID

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is rumored to have significant enhancements to the main camera trio as well as iterative updates to the rest of the device. In recent weeks, we’ve seen leaks regarding this and that detail, and now leakster Yogesh Brar has compiled a list of the expected specifications.

The Foldable Display

The star of the show, the foldable display on the inside, is expected to stay at 7.6″. Samsung is reportedly aiming to minimize the wrinkle. Using harsher Super UTG is part of the attempt to improve this display. Both the internal and exterior 6.2″ displays will feature 120Hz AMOLED panels with similar resolutions but significantly different aspect ratios.

In Terms of Cameras

Brar claims that the main module on the back will include a 50MP sensor (and not 108MP as some rumor’s suggested). The higher resolution will help bridge the gap between the longer telephoto lens – 3x optical magnification – and the 12MP of the 3rd generation model (up from 2x). The telephoto and ultra wide cameras will keep their 12MP resolution.

The internal in-display selfie camera is said to be 16MP, however that was also the physical resolution on the Z Fold3. However, due to the more complex picture processing, it had to be binned down to 4MP. It remains to be seen whether this happens again this year. The exterior punch hole selfie camera will keep its 10MP resolution.

Processing Power

With the newly announced Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Samsung is projected to improve processing power while also adding additional RAM — 12 or 16GB, up from just 12GB. With 256GB and 512GB possibilities, storage should remain the same. The phone’s battery capacity is expected to remain at 4,400mAh, with a charging speed of 25W.

That’s all there is to it. Some features from the Galaxy Z Fold3 will be carried over to the Z Fold4, such as IPX8 water resistance, dual speakers, improved connectivity, and S Pen support. However, there is still no space for the stylus.

Samsung has reportedly begun mass production of the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4, putting the device on schedule for an August release. Analysts predict that the corporation will produce twice as many of each model this year, indicating that sales will be strong.
